With under two weeks left of the transfer window, could Emery secure another one or two deals in order to further bolster his squad?
Could Aston Villa sign Dani Ceballos?
According to Spanish news outlet Sport, Emery is ‘preparing’ an offer to reunite with the Spaniard as he looks to bring him to Villa before their European adventure begins.
A fee of around €15m (£13m) will be offered to Real Madrid and given that the La Liga giants have signed Jude Bellingham this summer, they could be tempted to move Ceballos on.

This is despite the fact the midfielder only recently signed a new contract until 2027 and given that he featured under Emery during his spell at Arsenal, it could be a smart move.
Could Dani Ceballos improve Aston Villa?
The 27-year-old has won two Champions League crowns, a La Liga title and an FA Cup during his career, along with a plethora of other trophies and there is no doubt he could add a winning mentality to the Villa squad should he make the move to the Premier League.
Having played a total of 120 matches for Madrid, he is no stranger to performing at the highest level, while his stint at Arsenal has given him plenty of experience of the English top flight, which would stand him in good stead.
Ceballos has been lauded as “superb” by journalist Lucas Navarrete, and he is also statistically similar to Chelsea starlet Enzo Fernandez, suggesting he could be a wonderful signing for Villa.
According to FBref, the Argentinian World Cup winner is the second-most similar player to Ceballos and given his recent meteoric rise and big money transfer to the Blues following his heroics in Qatar last year, it isn’t a bad comparison to have.
Indeed, the duo have registered similar statistics with regard to shots per 90 (1.04 to 1.51), pass completion percentage (90.6% to 87%) and successful take-on percentage (60.6% to 54%).

WhoScored suggests that both Ceballos and Fernandez excel at passing and have extremely high levels of concentration meaning they can circulate the ball well during matches and won’t let standards slip.
They both also like to shoot from distance and judging by their statistics, they always look to get their names on the scoresheet.
Emery could do worse than making a move for his former player in the dying embers of the transfer window, especially with Ceballos’ experience in the Champions League.
The Spanish dynamo could be a wonderful signing, and it reflects just how much of an extraordinary job the former Villarreal manager has done since taken charge in October 2022.
With three impressive signings so far, the 27-year-old could make it four should he swap sunny Madrid for the drab Midlands.

Dinesh Chandimal has been left out of Sri Lanka’s squad for the first two ODIs against Zimbabwe. Uncapped 19-year-old spin allrounder Wanidu Hasaranga was named in the 13-member team, with recalls for spinner Akila Dananjaya and seamer Lahiru Madushanka, along with fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera, who has not played international cricket since December 2016.Chandimal, Sri Lanka’s highest run-getter in ODIs in 2016, with 656 runs at an average of 59.63, has had a lean 2017, scoring 178 runs at 22.25. Tottenham Hotspur are still keen on signing Southampton's James Ward-Prowse, with Fulham and West Ham United also interested in a deal for the midfielder, according to a report from The Daily Mail.
What's the latest Tottenham transfer news?
Tottenham are still searching for a new option in central midfield, with Ange Postecoglou personally making a plea for the board to pursue a move for Fulham's Joao Palhinha, however the Cottagers' asking price is currently said to be around the £90m mark.
A low-cost alternative to the Fulham star could be Fiorentina's Sofyan Amrabat, with the Italian club set to listen to offers above €20m (£17.1m), while journalist Ben Jacobs has also named Spurs as a "suitor in the race" to sign Chelsea's Conor Gallagher.
Another England international who the Lilywhites have previously been named as potential suitors for is Ward-Prowse, with reports from June detailing that they were the club "pushing hardest" to sign him.
While there has since been no update on Tottenham's pursuit of the £100k-per-week midfielder, a new report from The Daily Mail makes it clear they are still interested in signing him, however there is ever-increasing competition for his signature.
Fulham and West Ham United are also named as potential suitors for the Southampton star, who is expected to leave St Mary's this summer, following his side's relegation from the Premier League last season.

The central midfielder has scored 49 goals in a total of 343 Premier League appearances for Southampton, including nine last season, in what was another impressive season on a personal level, despite the Saints' relegation from the top flight.
Hailed as "sensational" by members of the media, the Englishman is very well-known for his ability from dead-ball situations, having scored 17 goals direct from free-kicks, just one short of the record set by former Manchester United man David Beckham.
While the 28-year-old is impressive from free-kicks, pundit Micah Richards believes there are other strengths to his game that often go unnoticed, telling Gary Neville: "He’s the most underrated player in the Premier League for years.
“And people say maybe he doesn’t have the mobility, but he works hard, he’s always 7/10 with that great right foot.
“You know what lets him down? Because he’s so good at free-kicks, like your mate David Beckham, people forget all the other stuff he does, and that’s his problem. But he’s a top player.”

The Portsmouth midfielder is also capable of playing on the right wing, and in a more attacking midfield role, creating nine big chances in the Premier League last season, double the amount of any other Southampton player.
Despite finishing far higher in the league table, the only Tottenham players to create more big chances than the Southampton captain last season were Harry Kane and Ivan Perisic.
With Perisic set to leave this summer, and Kane's future still in doubt amid interest from Bayern, Spurs could do with bringing in another creative player this summer, and Ward-Prowse could be a fantastic signing.
It was a season that promised so much for Arsenal and Gooners everywhere, a record 248 days atop the Premier League table, last-minute winners against teams like Manchester United and a feeling that they were really going to dethrone Manchester City. Alas, it ended in disappointment.

However, with an array of quality players now linked with a move to Mikel Arteta's project in North London, could they finally cross the finish line next season and end their two-decade wait for a league title?
The list of those who could join the club is quite impressive. Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber, Kai Havertz, and Romeo Lavia could all help transform the team from nearly men into champions.
It isn't just incomings, though. To help the team progress, some players are set to depart from the Emirates over the coming weeks.

The name many are expecting to leave is the long-serving Granit Xhaka, a player once public enemy number one amongst fans but now leaves with the love and admiration of the Emirates faithful. The other man linked with an exit is a little more surprising, midfield monster Thomas Partey.
The Ghanaian international was one of the side's best players for much of last season. However, his performances faltered as the team around him struggled to cope with the pressure. Maybe that is why Arteta is happy for the player to leave.
Either way, there will definitely be some incomings this summer and here are some of the players who could be signed.

Declan Rice
The West Ham United man has become something of the club's white whale in recent months, as the stories linking him to the club have felt near enough constant, with there seemingly being very little in the way of actual progress until recently.
In the aftermath of the Hammers Europa Conference League, Irons chairman David Sullivan confirmed Rice would be leaving in the summer window, music to the ears of Gooners everywhere.
Even better news came when transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that personal terms between the club and player were "almost agreed" and a "new bid" was "to be discussed" between the clubs.
The England international would be an excellent signing for Arsenal and would provide some genuine flexibility in midfield. That said, the likely position for the West Ham man, in light of the Partey news, would be at the base of midfield, screening the back four.
It's a position he has excelled in for the East London club, and according to FBref, who compare players in a similar role across Europe's top five leagues, he is in the top 5% for interceptions and the top 17% for clearances, per 90.
He does have more to his game than just defending, however, notably his ability to carry the ball forward, which could mean he occasionally plays in the number eight role.
Romeo Lavia

One of the few standout performers from an otherwise dismal Southampton side this year, Romeo Lavia certainly looks like a star for the future.
Perhaps it's no surprise then that the team with the second-youngest average age in the league would be interested in signing him.
Whilst it would be unlikely for the Belgian to come in and regularly start for the team, he would certainly benefit from being around players like Rice and Jorginho.
Kai Havertz

This was certainly a transfer story many of us weren't expecting to be writing about this summer, Chelsea's Kai Havertz to Arsenal.
However, the more we think about it, the more it starts to make sense.
What has been one of the main problems for Havertz at Chelsea? His inability to find a position to make his own. What's something that Arteta values highly in a player? Positional versatility.
That said, it does look like with the departure of Xhaka, the number eight position will become available for someone else, and that was a potion the German international would occasionally play to great effect during his time with Bayer Leverkusen.
With Rice behind him, he could make full use of his speed and technical ability to be a real thorn in the side of opposing midfielders and defenders.
Jurrien Timber

Another surprising link is to Ajax's much sought-after Jurrien Timber, especially after considerable talk of the Dutch defender joining his former manager Erik ten Hag at Manchester United.
If Arsenal were to get their man, though, it would be a fantastic deal. And they have already lodged a £30m bid, as per David Ornstein.
Timber has been excellent for Ajax this season, averaging a match rating of 6.89, according to WhoScored, across 34 games in the league.
One of the major pluses to this signing would be his versatility – you can really see the pattern with Arteta now – as the 22-year-old can fill in as both a right-back required.
This would allow Ben White to play more games as a centre-half next season and create more depth in both positions.

West Ham United could be set to raid the Championship for their first big signing of the summer, with Record, via Sport Witness, reporting that the Hammers will go head-to-head with Sporting to sign Viktor Gyokeres.
How good is Viktor Gyokeres?
The 25-year-old has really come into his own since securing a permanent switch to Coventry in the second tier, and helped the Sky Blues to get to the play-off final in the 2022/23 campaign with his incredible end product. Featuring in all 46 games – 44 of which were starts – the forward managed to score 21 times and set up ten more to take his overall goal contribution rate to 31 in 46. It was far and away the best total of his career to date.
Prior to that, his first full campaign with the club brought 17 more goals in 41 starts. Given regular minutes in the Championship then, the striker has thrived and continually hits double-digit tallies.
In fact, his rates have been so impressive that he measures up nicely to others in his position amongst the Men's 'Next 8' competitions in Europe too (the leagues below the big five). Whilst his non-penalty goal rate of 0.40 is well above average (63rd percentile), it is his work in producing chances that really stands out. With a rate of 0.22 assists per 90, it puts him in the top nine percent versus other forwards. It shows he is a clinical finisher but is also excellent at picking out his teammates.
Now, his showings in the Championship may have landed him a move elsewhere this summer. That's because according to a report from Record, via Sport Witness, the player is wanted by both Sporting and West Ham this summer, and the latter of the two sides is ready to step up their pursuit of Gyokeres.
It states that they could not only outmuscle the Portuguese side financially and have really kicked things up a gear, taking steps to get the ball rolling because they know they can outbid Sporting with the cash from Declan Rice's sale.
What is Gyokeres' fee?
The striker won't be cheap and would certainly command more than what Coventry paid for him if they get their way. The Sky Blues are believed to want around 20 million Euros to get a deal done (or £17m) and that is obviously much more favourable for the Premier League side than Sporting.
It could be worth it for the striker too, with Tony Pulis once even likening the player to Erling Haaland. He stated that Gyokeres is "a yard faster and stronger" than those he came up against in the second tier and added that he is "really talented". If West Ham can get a deal done then, they could have themselves a real powerhouse upfront for the next campaign.
Liverpool are among the Premier League outfits eyeing a move for Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze, who has been in fine form in LaLiga this season.
What's the latest on Samuel Chukwueze to Liverpool?
That's following reports from Spain claiming that Arsenal, the Reds and Newcastle United are attentive to the Yellow Submarine ace's developing situation this summer, with a fee of €50m (£44m) expected to be enough to prise him away.
The 24-year-old has just one year remaining on his current deal with the club and has seemingly had his head turned by the interested English parties.
Previous reports illustrate the player's reluctance to pen a new deal with Villarreal, and as such, a summer transfer might be the most likely option as his outfit look to cash in for a lucrative departure and eradicate the chance of him waltzing out on a free.
Should Liverpool sign Samuel Chukwueze?
Whether Liverpool would be willing to pay a fee nearing £50m while the requirement for upgrades across the midfield and defensive departments is so great remains to be seen, but Chukwueze would undoubtedly be a sensational addition to a frontline already boasting a broad scope in qualities and potency.
Having won the 20/21 Europa League against Manchester United, Chukwueze is a beloved figure at the club and has chalked up 207 appearances since rising from Villarreal's youth ranks.
This season, he has been in blistering form and plundered 13 goals and 11 assists from 50 outings, with the fleet-footed forward praised for his "flamboyant" style on the pitch by talent scout Jacek Kulig.
As per FBref, he ranks among the top 9% of attacking midfielders and wingers across Europe's top five leagues over the past year for progressive carries, the top 3% for successful take-ons and the top 14% for touches in the attacking box per 90, highlighting his aptitude at pushing forward and taking the fight to the opposition.
With Arsenal prodigy Bukayo Saka listed by the statistic-based site as one of the 27-cap Nigerian's most comparable players, Klopp should look to make his move and emulate the Gunners' success with the precocious England international.
Similarly dynamic in his attacking output, Saka scored 15 goals and served 11 assists as Arsenal chased the Premier League title this season, with the 21-year-old earning praise as a "mentality monster" by FourFourTwo writer Mark White.
The £195k-per-week star ranks among the top 10% of positional peers across Europe's top five leagues over the past year for progressive carries and the top 5% for touches in the attacking box, illustrating the striking resemblance to Chukwueze.

Arsenal are now "working on a proposal" for West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice, according to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs.
Who will Declan Rice sign for?
Rice is likely to have a number of offers on the table this summer, but transfer guru Fabrizio Romano believes that Arsenal are the "big favourites" to win the race for his signature, although he clarifies that it is still an "open situation."
The Gunners are likely to face competition from several other Premier League clubs, with Manchester City ready to enter the race, while Chelsea and Liverpool are also still monitoring the situation, according to Football Insider.
Given that the 24-year-old has expressed his desire to play in the Champions League, Arsenal and Man City are seemingly well-placed to sign him, however Jacobs has now detailed one potential advantage Mikel Arteta may have over his former club.
In an interview with GiveMeSport, the CBS reporter said: "What Arsenal are doing is working on a proposal for Rice. He remains one of their top priorities, and we know that midfield is also a high priority position.
"Declan Rice has spoken glowingly about Arsenal. There are, of course, other suitors. Chelsea have looked and there is even admiration from Manchester United and Newcastle United.
"But I've always been told, even if it's not a deal-breaker, that Rice would, ideally, like to stay in London. That obviously gives Arsenal and Chelsea some hope, and they can use that to their advantage."
How has Rice performed this season?
It has been yet another outstanding season for the £60k-per-week midfielder, particularly in a defensive sense, having made the highest number of interceptions in the Premier League, while he is also in the top ten for tackles completed.
West Ham fans have become accustomed to their captain's fantastic displays, having been ranked by Sofascore as their best-performing Premier League player last term, and again this season, averaging a 7.20 match rating.
Arteta needs to capitalise on Arsenal being back in the Champions League by bringing in players of Rice's quality, and he would be a real upgrade on Granit Xhaka, who is likely to leave in the summer.
The England international has averaged more tackles and interceptions, while he has also recorded a better pass-completion rate per 90 than Xhaka over the past year, and he just needs to improve his attacking output in order to become the perfect central midfielder.
